Nider, Manuale Confessorum, 1474 ([1]1r)

The beginning of this manual for confessors is marked with an “incipit,” a common Latin word used to indicate the beginning of a text. In early printed texts, an incipit provides the title of the book. This copy leaves the blank space for the initial letter at the beginning of the text empty, although an early owner clearly used and annotated the book.
