Citations
This site as a whole should be cited as follows (using, of course, your preferred citation styling):
Sarah Werner. Early Printed Books. Version 1.02. https://www.earlyprintedbooks.com.
This is Version 1.02 of this site as a whole. You can find the current version number for the site here or in the footer on the landing page.
Changes that affect the site as a whole will be reflected in an updated site version number. Examples of what would lead to a new version level (e.g., from 1.0 to 2.0) would include substantial additions of categories of content or changes to the platform. Smaller changes, such as additional content that doesn’t alter the nature of the site or tweaks to the platform running it, might lead to a new number within the same version level (e.g., from 2.0 to 2.01). This versioning system will help users more accurately retrace their steps and reproduce searches. The changelog describes the dates and features of new versions as they are released.
A different versioning system is used for individual pages to identify when that page was changed. Those version numbers follow a date-stamp system, listing the four-digit year, two-digit month, and two-digit day when the content on that page was created or last revised. Page version numbers are provided in the footer in a form to help you in craft accurate citations:
